Bob Klatt was employed by the Lind Shoe Company from June 1998 through June 2000. Bob served concurrently as Director of Marketing & Sales for the Lind Shoe Company and President of World Impex Bowling, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lind Shoe Company located in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon closure of Lind's offices and manufacturing operations in Somerset, Wisconsin, Bob was offered future employment by World Impex Bowling in Jacksonville. Bob chose to remain in Minnesota to complete his MBA and to permit his wife to continue her studies leading to a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  
Until June 2000, the Lind Shoe Company manufactured performance bowling shoes in its Somerset facility. World Impex Bowling, which was acquired by the Lind Shoe Company in February 1999, imports and distributes rental bowling shoes and metal lockers installed in bowling centers, primarily from Mexico and China. Subsequent to June 2000 Lind's performance bowling shoes will be manufactured in Mexico and distributed through World Impex Bowling.
  
Bob was one of four members of Lind's management committee. In this capacity he contributed to Lind's strategic planning which culminated in the acquisition of World Impex Bowling, the decision to discontinue production of bowling shoes in Somerset, the decision to contract for the manufacture of the Lind line of bowling shoes in Mexico, and the consolidation of Lind's and World Impex Bowling's operations in Jacksonville. These actions, all of which have been implemented with Bob's input, have resulted in material cost savings and the streamlining of Lind's management.
  
As Director of Marketing & Sales, Bob expanded Lind's line of bowling shoes. His involvement included design and testing, pricing, development of a marketing plan, and introduction of the new line to Lind's distributors and dealers. Market acceptance of Lind's expanded line attests to Bob's thoughtfulness and implementation skills.
  
As president of World Impex Bowling, Bob successfully integrated its employees into the Lind culture, developed and implemented a more aggressive marketing strategy, improved the quality of existing products by changing design and upgrading materials, began the successful distribution of Lind performance bowling shoes through World Impex, and revised World Impex Bowling's compensation, commission and incentive plans, all of which contributed to increased sales and reduced employee turnover.
  
Bob has the ability to think strategically, act practically, and inspire coworkers. He manages his time well while remaining focused. He communicates well with customers, suppliers, and employees. Bob routinely puts the company's interests before his own, is willing to contribute to the task at hand, and always brings enthusiasm and excitement to the job. It is always a pleasure to work with Bob.
  
Bob's loss will be felt by both the Lind Shoe Company and World Impex Bowling.
